Twila Provencher was born in Montreal, spent some of her youth in Toronto, and now has lived in British Columbia for a number of years. She was raised in a large family where all five children were home schooled. Family has always meant the world to her. At the age of fifteen, Twila was accepted into the Culinary Arts program at Camosun College. After completing it she worked in this field for ten years passionately seeking out inspiring menus and excellence in service in many restaurants and pastry shops across Canada.
In 2015 she felt a strong desire to make a difference and get involved in the community. This led her to begin volunteering. In one of her placements she planned activities and supported adults living with disabilities. Twila has since graduated from the Health Care Assistant program with honours and has delved into her current career working with individuals requiring assistance. Twila opened Step Above Home Care in 2017. She is driven by a vision to build an inclusive community and to create meaningful relationships with her clients. Step Above Home Care is about making a difference in peoples lives through companionship, quality care, nutritionally balanced meals, art, music, and exercise.
